Taylor Swift has generously contributed $100,000 (£74,500) to a GoFundMe campaign set up for a young admirer undergoing treatment for brain cancer.
A Heartfelt Connection #
Katelynn Smoot has been posting TikTok clips recently, where her daughter, Lilah, can be seen joyfully dancing to Swift’s track “The Fate Of Ophelia.” In one video, Lilah excitedly points at the screen exclaiming, “That’s my friend!”
Since beginning chemotherapy in March for a particularly rare and aggressive type of brain cancer, her mother has started crowdfunding efforts to assist with medical expenses.

The Impact of Swift’s Support #
The viral nature of these videos resulted in an impressive $100,000 donation to the GoFundMe campaign on Friday (October 17), accompanied by a heartfelt note: “Sending the biggest hug to my friend, Lilah! Love, Taylor.”

Swift’s significant donation inspired many fans to contribute as well, with numerous supporters giving $13 in honor of Swift’s favorite number. To date, the campaign has surpassed its initial target, raising over $218,000. Donations can still be made here.
Katelynn shared a touching video of herself and Lilah dancing to “The Life Of Ophelia,” expressing their gratitude to Swift: “Thank you beyond words, Taylor Swift. We can now focus on being here with our girl. Truly, we are so grateful… You have no idea how much this means to our family.”

In related news, Swift’s fans have collectively raised over $2 million for the Monterey Bay Aquarium following her appearance in a vintage shirt featuring sea otters in her recent film, “The Life Of A Showgirl,” which premiered ahead of her album’s release this month.
A museum in Wiesbaden, Germany, has also seen a significant rise in visitors after fans noted that one of its artworks closely resembles a scene from “The Fate Of Ophelia.”
