Bruce Springsteen’s Bold Stance Against ICE #
During a surprise performance in New Jersey, Bruce Springsteen urged ICE to “get the fuck out of Minneapolis,” reiterating his criticism of the Trump administration.

At the Light of Day Winter Festival on January 17, he seized the moment to voice his concerns about the state of the nation. Introducing the song The Promised Land, he expressed, “This song is a tribute to the possibilities of America. It captures both the beauty and imperfections of our country, as well as the potential it holds.”
Springsteen remarked on the current climate, stating, “We are navigating a period of significant turmoil. The values and ideals that the United States has represented for the past 250 years are facing unprecedented challenges.”

A Call to Action #
In light of recent events, he declared, “If you believe in the rule of law and advocate for accountability, if you oppose heavily armed federal forces using aggressive tactics in our cities, and if you think that exercising your right to protest should not lead to violence, make your voice heard: as the mayor of Minneapolis said, ICE needs to leave.”
As he transitioned to performing Darkness On The Edge Of Town, he dedicated the song to the memory of Renee Good, a mother of three who tragically lost her life due to an incident involving ICE agent Jonathan Ross on January 7. This event sparked widespread protests nationwide, with calls from Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for the agency’s withdrawal. In contrast, Trump and his supporters defended the actions of the agent, claiming self-defense.
Springsteen also criticized the ICE raids that took place in Los Angeles last summer, condemning the current situation: “Many communities across America have opened their arms to immigrants and migrant workers. What’s happening now is appalling and a profound tragedy.”
He has advocated for Trump’s impeachment, insisting he should be “discarded to the annals of history,” describing him as “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.” In October, he threw his support behind the No Kings movement during widespread national protests.
In response, Trump labeled Springsteen as “overrated” and referred to him as a “pushy, obnoxious jerk.”
Meanwhile, the Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, featuring Jeremy Allen White from The Bear as the singer, was well-received, obtaining a four-star rating from Newzikradio. The publication noted, “What Deliver Me From Nowhere effectively demonstrates is how Springsteen prioritized genuine artistry over commercial success.”
Director Scott Cooper revealed that Springsteen is interested in exploring more cinematic projects in the future. “There are numerous chapters in Bruce’s life that are ideal for film,” Cooper asserted. “This is a conversation Bruce and I have had, and he genuinely enjoyed this film and the entire process.”
